"How safe is your operating system? – We all know that Vista is a big graphical improvement over XP for the majority of home and business users, but is there any other valid reason for upgrading from XP? The thoughts of some people are simple: “I want the newest technology regardless of the Pros and Cons.” My thoughts are that Vista still has lots of bugs, and demands lots of resources to run smoothly. Further, it offers little more than XP for the average home user. If your PC is running ok on XP, and is doing everything you ask of it, then why upgrade to something that will do exactly the same, slightly differently, and will more than likely require you upgrade your hardware?
Windows XP has been around since 2002 now, which may sound like a long time, but what comes with this is lots of bug fixes, improvements, and a second service pack (soon to be a third!). This gives you a little peace of mind that a lot of imperfections have been ironed out. Vista, on the other hand, has shown itself to have lots of bugs, glitches and idiosyncracies. Service Pack One (SP1) will be released shortly, and my advice to anyone thinking “Should I upgrade?” would be to wait a while longer - at least until that is being shipped as part of the installation. Then comes the question, which OS will hackers target now that Vista is on the scene?"
